The presentation is beautiful. Dull drab browns of cooked flesh are replaced by the bright vibrant colors of vegetables; vegetables that have been prepared every which way and even turned into meat alternatives. Some of the dishes leave you wondering if it is true, if this food is really Vegan?

Welcome to Native Foods, a small, relaxed Vegan eatery out of Southern California. Don’t let the “V” word scare you though; this is Vegan food cooked by renowned culinary expert Tanya Petrovna. Unlike the bland alternatives most people would associate with vegan cuisine, each dish is carefully prepared with an arsenal of flavor.

Sitting in what is like a tent on the Serengeti, the open circular canvas mirrors the natural circle of life. This functional tent structure proves

to be the ideal setting for a progressive meal. With a giant fan and a myriad of windows, you are always comfortable.

The menu is quite extensive, from the Chinese “Save the Chicken” salad to the Portobello and Sausage burger. The homemade Tempeh, Seitan, and soy chicken simply taste amazing. All these subtle touches come together to create a wonderful eating experience rivaling top gourmet restaurants.

Usually many might be turned off to the vegan lifestyle. However one meal from Native Foods' delicious repertoire might make you think twice about animal products. Who knew piece of mind could taste this good!
