OU: How did you guys get together?
A forever long story…
Brett: At first in my tiny apartment, my friend Keith who I used to play in a band with in Arizona came out to hang out with me. He was kinda a transient type of guy. Really, really down to earth guy. I went to work one day and he went to my friends up stairs across the hall, and got some drums that my friend had and brought them into my house, this tiny apartment, like as big as a kitchen, and he sets them up in there. I come home and he’s playing. I just get excited and my neighbor next store is pretty cool with it, the walls are connected. So, I just get out my guitar, I’ve got a guitar and a tiny amp, and I just start to play music. Well a week later Keith leaves, leaves the drums in my house, doesn’t give a shit. Andrew comes over and starts playing on the drums and he totally rocks, so me and Andrew start making a couple songs, playing off each other and writing some stuff and after that…
Andrew: We had songs that we both wrote and brought them together and Kind of wrote them and got Brian to play bass, he normally plays guitar…
Brett: They’re brothers, fraternal twins.
Brian: I’d always played guitar before and they were like, “would you mind coming in a playing a little bit.” I had a bass at my house.
Brett: An outstanding bass too!
Brian: It was amazing. It was a headless Steinberg it was just…
Brett: It looked like something you’d play in like 1982 with Joy Division. Brian: So I came in and started

jammin’ out with them a little bit and we decided hey we’ve got some pretty good decent songs here. We’re doing good. We had like four or five.
Mark: They were all written from beginning to end. The music was just set. They were all tight.
Brett: It just came naturally, we just wrote songs. That was the fulfillment, the joy. Some bands just like to jam, and I like to do that too, but the organization is just so rewarding at the end. I think we all connected like that. Came in to know that a stop was going to be here, and then this was going to come back in. That was exciting.
Andrew: And then we hooked up with Mark through a friend
Mark: We met like a year before. He had seen me play out in the back of some Irish pub
Brett: Completely naked.
Mark: I was playing acoustic doing misfits covers in the back patio, for some friends birthday party. The owner of Diafied skate clothing.
And he(Andrew) was editing stuff for Diafied.
Mark: So he had seen me and the guys from Diafied all knew me and they said, “ Hey man you need to get in a band.” I hadn’t played with a band for like a couple years and I really wasn’t looking for a band, but I was playing solo gigs. They were all talking about Andrew so I called him and eventually we hooked up. I am the only one of the singers that brought beer to practice too!
